Marquee Hire?
« on: 20 May, 2008, 02:25:47 pm »
Hey guys,

I need to hire a big marquee big enough for 50 seated people and a projection desk + screen in the summer for an outdoor event. Trouble is we need it to be as dark as possible inside.

Any ideas?

Hold the event at night.

Get a Yurt. Darker than your normal marquee and they are designed to have stuff hung from the walls (usually rugs) which will block out even more light.
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

1. Contact a Marquee Hire Company
2. Tell them you your requirements

I think it's possible. I went to Sir Patrick Moore's knees up last year and the marquees were very dark inside. Don't know who supplied them.

Aye I've been searching just wondered if anyone has had any dealings in the past, so far been quoted around the £800 mark for marquees + black out.

Also for a laugh I've asked for a quote from these guys http://www.lightmedia.co.uk/index.html for the biggun just cos it looks cool.

Barkers Marquees made a totally blacked out tent for us when I was at the Museum, for an exhibition called 'The Dark'

Marquee Manufacturers of Clearspan Frame Tents, Traditional Pole Marquees etc for UK Event Industry

The weren't cheap though - around 18k as I recall  :o  :o  :o
