Just the 6500m of climbing then (1800m more than the Elenith, 2500m more than The Dean).

It's OK, the French can do it even bigger: Le Tour Du Mont BlancĀ® Cyclo. 8000m climb in 330km.

That's almost as high a rate of climb as the Dales Grimpeur, but in a 300 rather than a 200.

Similar (slightly lower) climb rate to the Fred Whitton.  Peak gradients not as high, either.

Still, it does sound challenging.

You shouldn't have posted that; it's given me the quiver of anticipation of something that wants doing...

It's not very clear about the time limits, but "From midday, all the participants will be invited to make half-turn at Martigny and go back to the Saisies (withdrawal)." suggests you're expected to do ~150km in 7 hours. Ouch.

Ooof.  My fastest 300k was the Mildenhall.  13 and a bit hours.  And that was pan flat!  Being realistic about my abilities, maybe a route to do as a tour than the event proper.
