Have been in Hartlepool last week and had an oppotunity to get along to the Headland.

Not very. There was a breeze coming from the west that was blowing all the spray back the way it was coming from. Normally waves hit the breakwater and if you are stood anywhere near you get a good soaking

No use for me, being a veggie n all, but I have heard they do a rather pleasant fish and chip supper

I haven't been either. I do like the Headland, mind. We went along for the carny when the Tall Ships were in town. We saw a couple of ships come around that breakwater while we were there.
