Formatting/coding on word documents

Does anyone know how to get ride of invisible formatting on word documents?
I find it irritating when I'm trying to fill in certain forms.

Tools > Options > View tab

Look at what's ticked under formatting marks.

NB - this is in Word 2003.

FLYING-WINDOWS-KEY + R
"notepad"
CTRL-V
CTRL-A
CTRL-C

Select all (Ctrl+A), then select "clear formatting" from the drop-down stylesheets menu in the Formatting toolbar.
