i know millar and boardman have taken yellow in the prologue but who and how long ago was the last British to grab yellow on a road stage

There have only been one before today, that didn't get the jersey after a prologue or a TT.

Long live wikipedia  ;) Sean Yates had it for a day, but it was after a TT.
