Nice updates.  Sorry to hear of your trouble Peli, that sounds scary.   Hope that the rest of your trip is enjoyable.    I only spent a couple of days in Seattle and didn't get out to the San Juans, I went around the Olympic peninsula instead, where it rained a lot!

Off to Leftpondia myself at the weekend , around 30ish during the day and down to freezing at night.

Thanks Andrew! I saw your planned route - it looks super.

We got a small boat back from Friday Harbour (San Juan island) to Port Townsend and then cycled the Olympic Peninsula. We have been incredibly lucky with the weather in the Northwest. It's not rained on us for over a month! The logging trucks on the Peninsula were, erm, interesting. But we managed to climb Hurricane Ridge (wonderful! 17 miles of up!) and find some "gnarly singletrack" (I understand that's how MTBers refer to it ;) which entertained us nicely.
