After 7 years and 8 procedures, the cancer on my nose has
finally been eliminated and my new implant is up to scratch - so to speak. After the initial skin graft broke down and the cancer re-appeared in October, I have had 11 hours of surgery (4 operations by an amazing team at Swansea's Morriston Hospital) replacing the old tissue with new tissue from my cheek. Today I had photos taken of my "beautiful" virtually invisible nose flap, (which will be used for teaching and demonstrating how well this pretty advanced technique can work) and sent on my way.

Yesterday I was screened for Aortic Aneurysm and was OK. All 65 year old males are offered screening here in Wales. A good idea as, if you have one and it ruptures, you have a very high chance of dying very rapidly.
So, this is a weekend that I am going to enjoy ...................
NHS? Brilliant!
