Round Poland Marathon (unsupported)
« on: 22 August, 2013, 09:01:15 pm »
Not the Tour de Pologne! More like the Transcontinental Race, competitors have 10 days to cover 3130km around the borders of Poland, starting and finishing from Cape Rozewie at the base of the Hel Peninsula* in  eastern Pomerania. Controls at various points, like an audax, but there are two categories: Extreme is for unsupported riders picking their own rest places, Sport riders have a mechanical back up van. The site only gives results of the 19 riders in the Extreme category - they started on the 17th and the current leader passed the 19th control at 1898km this afternoon.

*Poles, being good Catholics, go on holiday to Hel, where they roast in the heat on the beach.
Riding a concrete path through the nebulous and chaotic future.
