B&M light mount with V-brakes, and on what forks?
« on: 01 August, 2014, 05:10:18 pm »
Is it possible to use a B&M luxos, on the standard B&M bracket, with V-brakes?

Has anyone got a picture of this configuration?

If so, what forks do you use, and do they have a drilled crown as well as bosses?

What forks could you use that would be (more) ideal?

What bodges/adapters are necessary, and what advantages/disadvantages to this config?

Alternatives (pref. using a CX-type fork?)

I don't think the standard Luxos mount would work with V-brakes. Something like this 471U mount should be better:

If the fork doesn't have a hole in the crown, you could just drill it yourself (assuming steel forks).

I had a b&m light mounted above the mudguard on my Cotic Roadrat.  It used the standard fitting, the fork was already drilled.  I used a long m6 bolt and a nylock
The position of the light was just above the brake gubbins.
The brakes did not have a vertical pull wire with a yoke they were shimano "U" brakes with a pipe
