I've had a lot of "cheap" gloves that fall apart within a few rides.Even if they are brilliant for a few hours, they can still be crap value.

But based on a purely objective view - with my Consumer Champion hat on! - we can't possibly know that from the reviewer's one ride with them.(and I doubt that all their gear is made in the same factory; I've found it very hit-n-miss. Merino base layers have been pretty good, for example - not as good as premium brand stuff, but good value IMHO.)
I got a pair of these as well. Work well at -2 on the commute.Still felt very weird wearing them and the sizing was small even though I had XL ones
