This looks interesting:

Not necessarily as an organised tour. Has anyone done this? If so, what's it like? Is it a marked route or is it DIY? What are the public transport options (if any) to the start and finish points?
I am often asked, what does YOAV stand for? It stands for Yoav On A Velo

I did this in 2012 here are my diary notes if they are any help: http://www.bikepacker.co.uk/irelandtour.html

Regarding getting to Mizen, you will see I had a lift. I think the nearest railway station is Cork. From there you may get a local bus to Skibbereen as they seem to take some bikes. From Malin I cycled back to Belfast via Giants Causeway. Otherwise you could cycle to Coleraine and catch a train to Belfast from there.

I've cycled most of it over the years in bits and pieces. AFAIK it's not signposted, though the much longer Wild Atlantic Way that hugs the coast for 1500 miles is.  Inland stretches of this one are mostly on good roads with wide shoulders.  The biggest climbs and most tourist traffic is in Cork and Kerry, and south to north is generally best for prevailing winds. I don't know much about the more local transport. You'll probably need to find your own way from Cork and to Derry.

Cicerone do a good cycle touring book for Ireland.
The routes are mainly along the coast so you would have to sort out the inland bits yourself.
I went all the way around Ireland using the book with just a AA roadmap as back up in case I got lost.
