Apparently in U.K. law your right to enjoy your property without nuisance is above the rights of even persisting nuisance causing businesses. This is why many motorsport venues are struggling or have gone out of business.

The Kimbolton kart circuit has only a limited number of race days, so when some infernal busybody from the local council saw a large number of cars parked at the track on a non-racing Sunday, he kicked up a fuss and the BHPC is now persona non grata at the venue.  Yes, it's our fault for our non-engines not disturbing the peace.
Perhaps you should have all cycled there?

Not for the first time have I thought they should get rid of the 'sports' class, which nobody seems to understand anyway, and have one for turning up without the aid of a motor vehicle.  Perhaps with a variation for a particularly stealthy approach.

The spirit was willing, but the flesh was weak.

Quote
An Irish Jack Sparrow impersonator who married the ghost of a pirate has revealed she has split from her 300-year-old hubby.

Earlier this year Amanda Sparrow Large, 46, said she’d found her “soulmate” in a Haitian pirate from the 1700s who was executed for thieving on the high seas.

The loved-up couple were legally married by a shaman priest in a boat off the Irish coast in international waters.

But now the mum from Drogheda, Co Louth, has revealed the unlikely union is over.

Not weird news this time, but a court order from Leftpondia that I can't see a judge from our side of the Big Pond ever issuing. Pay attention to the opening and closing lines... ;D

Continuing the theme of cranky court filings...

And to finish - an Illinois attorney had a particularly extreme reaction to the outcome of the 2016 election:

The Australian government and the utterly batshit crazy anti-encryption law.  TL;DR, The law enables government agencies to compel companies to break encryption on their own products if said agencies believe that a crime has been, or may be, committed.

Never mind that the companies currently, in many cases, have no access to the customer's data. Never mind that this will fundamentally undermine much of modern 'net commerce. Never mind that this will mean the end of hi-tech development in Australia.

Not just the cow bells, but they are complaining about the smell

In my little part of the upper left-hand corner of USANIA, when one purchases property within 1/4 mile of agriculturally-zone land, that fact must be disclosed.  Part of a "freedom to farm" act meant to avoid nuisance claims.

Several summers ago, a farmer spread a considerable amount of chicken manure on his field.  The aroma spread for much more than 1/4 mile.

I have read somewhere that BEARs are just crazy about any refined petroleum products, to the extent that they will drink motor oil if they can get their paws on it.  OTOH grizzlies hate getting their ears wet.

They'll also drink Guinness, the downside being that motor oil tastes better.

It's best, when showering any kind of bear, to ensure they are wearing a close-fitting swimming cap.

India scientists dismiss Einstein theories

Oh my! That really is some amazing ... er "science".

It almost sounds like a massive hoax by the science community - each year there is a secret meeting where they choose the next ludicrous public proclamation.

"
In 2014, Prime Minister Narendra Modi told medical staff at a Mumbai hospital that the story of the Hindu god Ganesha - whose elephant head is attached to a human body - showed cosmetic surgery existed in ancient India

You want a sign of the end times? You've got a sign of the end times - Costco's sold out of its 27lb (12.25kg) buckets of mac and cheese.

Quote
Your comfort food prayers are answered, mac and cheese lovers.

Costco has blessed us with a 27-pound “Storage Bucket” of the ooey-gooey good stuff containing 180 servings. This gluttonous golden opportunity is helpfully listed under “Emergency Kits & Supplies” on the Costco website.
...

Although it’s actually been around on the down low for a few years, this cheesy pasta product is suddenly so popular that it’s temporarily out of stock.

Pah! Every day I walk past a 50-gallon drum of mango chutney (sadly depleted, it's now used a planter).

That must have required a serious order of poppodoms.
