What are you doing right now?

jogler, I couldn't make it round a 200 at the mo, but could possibly manage a relatively leisurely 100 in a month or so once I've hopefully got a few more miles done.  Shout up if you want company.

I was suprised to do 100km* the other weekend on the EM Fixed ride.Rode from home to their pub stop & back.

* There is no computer on the Langster so I plotted the ride on Bikely when I got back

If you can ride a 100 on a day like that (sub zero temperature, stiffening breeze, snow later) then I doubt very much you'd have much trouble finishing a 200 in friendlier conditions.

It's the knee that's the current issue Chris.
I think the rest of my carcass could manage it & I have previously demonstrated to myself that I can adopt the necessary mind games to do a 200.

Right. Someone else not too far from here has recently been diagnosed with some knee issues. We're hoping some warmer weather will help offset some of the symptoms.

FWIW - I found Sunday's 200 quite hard going from a muscular/skeletal point of view. It was only a degree or so above freezing all day, and we were pushing hard; my legs have been quite sore since and I felt on the day that my muscles just weren't loosening up and getting going properly.

I think it's arthritis which I hope will be less of an issue during warmer temperatures.

I too have kniggling nee problems, and a desire for some more purposefullnessicity to my riding of a weekend.  Permission to be kept posted as to which events you're planning to enter?

Actually I do have an idea to ride some audax from Alfreton.

all subject to knee & RL issues permitting
If you are interested I could pick you up en route.

Alfreton is possibly less than convenient for Crinkly Lion & Kim.And of late where there is Kim there is Barakta

I'll give this some thought and start a seperate thread for those who are knee-challenged.I  think it could be entitled

I am also entering audaxes right now, so far decided on a 150k, 300k, 400k another 400k and a 600k. That will be an SR in itself but I should probably find a 200k to enter too

Yebbut Derby station is mediumly accessible by train from both the CrinklyDen and the Mordorian outskirts.  So we could meet up there for onward travel to Alfreton - esp. as my own experiences of North-East Derbyshire suggest use of the "safety in numbers" approach.  And if the train times don't fit, I have plenty of spare-roominess chez Rower.
