Carp, work just phoned desperate to cover tonight because of a no-show. I had about 5 hours sleep last night and spent the day riding 100k so I was looking forward to some food and a chill out. Now I have to go in for 11pm and work 10 hours instead

Eating tea after a 2.5 hour jam session with a friend from work. I have no right-hand technique, he has no left-hand technique, but we managed a pretty good "Folsom Prison Blues" with him doing the chords and me doing the jangly solo bits and singing.

I am armed with my stripiest socks, the cheese-tastic citrus print jersey that I reckon you could see from orbit and which clashes astonishingly with my hair (smidsy that, y'swines!), a plenty of orange cardboard, a pannier of random stuff, no caik, no flapjack, somebody's rather late birthday present, the muddiest bike ever and some equally muddy sturdy walking shoes. And a reasonable level of determination to actually make it to Dentdale, one way or another, at the third attmpt! M'off onna h'adventure
