Getting the singlespeed ready for tomorrow and emailing the LBS to ask them to order me a new cassette joint for Genesis the Orange.

Much as I'd love to ride in on Pugsley, I suspect I might succumb to the temptation of riding over wandering students rather than around them.

Digesting meat.

That's it. That was my dinner. A fee-yooogue sirloin. Nothing else, just the steak. Very rare. ^[1]
Oh, and a bottle of not-at-all-bad-for-the-price Romanian Merlot.

I do get on well with high protein meals...that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!

Cut its horns off, wipe its arse and show it a very hot pan so the outside is nicely seared and the inside is blue for me please

MrsC has difficulty in persuading French restaurants that she really does mean that rare, despite being English!

We have just moved the piano three rooms away. It was Very Hard Work but it's worth it. I didn't realise how damp the wall was behind the piano, and now it's not against an outside wall so that will be a great improvement. It also means I can play it without disturbing Dez. I think Bechstein model IVs weigh about 400lb.

My wrist hurts now.

I have just played a couple of Beethoven sonatas. They are just wonderful.

I have a problem getting ENGLISH restaurants to accept I want it that rare.

To me it should be "give it half an hour and a good vet and it'll be back on it's feet"

The only place in London where I've managed to get a steak as blue as I actually enjoy it was Gaucho. It was delicious and I could quite happily have moved in...

Not a place I can afford to go to regularly though...

After having the raging lurgy for 10 days or so I am now recovered and making the most of my new gym membership. I am trying all the different kinds of classes to see which are best. In terms of the best (most knackering) workout spinning followed by spin & abs takes top prize. Today I had an hour with a personal trainer and then a pilates class this evening. The personal trainer certainly gave me a good workout although he was puzzled at my stamina for cardio stuff ( I told him I did a bit of cycling although not very fast

) and how fast I was on the rowing machine

Pilates was exercise without breaking a sweat. I am not sure how much it has done for me, although I may discover this when I try and sit up in bed in the morning. There are several kinds of classes I have not yet tried, although my Polar watch is telling me I have overtrained in Zone 3 this week and should definitely not do any more high intensity training for 3 days. So I will go out on the bike tomorrow and not wear the polar watch
