Trying to hit my step target for the day. I am 1500 steps short, TLD is in bed, so I am having to walk back and forward between the lounge and dining room!

Sitting on the deck (again) with the eleventy third mug of tea, today, in 30 plus degree heat. Waiting for the paint to dry on the Land Rover, knowing that there is at least 8 hours required between coats.

Oh, well! That's work over for the day, have to slum it in the pool I suppose . . .

Worrying about my hernia operation in the morning tomorrow. I am totally terrified

. the last hernia operation I had was a keyhole one and I was able bodied .this time it is being done the old way and I could end up in retention ect . I have been told 6 weeks recovery .

Best wishes for the op, cycleman. Try not to worry too much. Maybe re-imagine it as really wild camping or something - it can't be any more uncomfortable than some of your nights in underpasses, surely!

It is not the op itself but the recovery that scares me most. Mrs cm has a suffers from panic attacks and finds day to day hard going. She also is impossible to wake once she is asleep so at night I am on my own. None of this is her fault and I expect it will all work out in the end but I am feeling uncomfortable in the tummy which I hope will not keep me from sleeping tonight . plus I am allergic to pain and and a complete wimp . I definitely prefer wild camping even in the rain to this

and I expect to not get out of the hospital till after the weekend now .
