Got the week off work. Nothing planned so am lying on the sofa wondering whether to plant the plants that are currently in the kitchen.

I've been making a lemon cake for a team lunch on Thursday, and I've made the lemon curd to sandwich the layers together with. I made triple quantities of lemon curd and a batch of scones to use up some of the excess. I've decanted most of the lemon curd into another bowl and I'm eating the rest, still warm, and making nommy noises.

Mrs. Wow and I have been to Essex Uni today to see our younger son's MA graduation. He slouches with the best of them.

An honorary doctorate was conferred upon Ivor Crewe, who with a name like that probably should have had a career as an engine driver rather than a university vice-chancellor. The intro speech was by Prof Anthony "It's a really bad night for Labour" King. They were really cock-a-hoop that Essex is considered to be the top politics department amongst British universities according to some league table or other, and that their economics dept. was 3rd.

Just half cleared my desk, and put the PC back together. I can now see the second monitor, which is a good thing, but I do need to deal with the "other side of the desk" <shudder>

Still, downloading a few BBC programmes for watching later, and it's nice to have access to my email again, rather than having to do things via webmail on a spare PC in the lab.

Up, far too early for this, since I'll be at Liverpool Street at 8am, so I'll be leaving Croydon at 7am, so need to be up 6am-ish. Actually all 15 minutes earlier, so I don't actually arrive exactly as the train leaves !
