Fighting off some sort of lurgy, being slightly breathless, and slightly headachey.

And not cycling or sculling.  Bugger.

Passing the 25 minutes til I need to get a bus to my parents.  

It's actually quicker to cycle the 13 miles to their house than the combination of public transport that I usually opt for, but with stuff to bring back and having to use a rucksack for it doesn't make for such a pleasant ride really, especially crossing the centre of Coventry to get there.

I am perusing the AUK calendar to identify  a programme of suitable rides to gradually bulild up to  being able to do a 200km audax for mid-2010.

I must admit that I stupidly piled in and struggled round one yesterday despite having done f'all on the bike for an age.

It went OK.  100 k next Saturday...and then I need to plan some more rides.

Yesterday's 40km was the longest ride I've done since TKP's Trough of Bowland in mid-August I am working my way up to 100km over the next few weekends

Mrs. Wow and I have just been out with the dog. We met Justine, whom I first encountered here Southend to Burnley and back, August., merging from Churchill Gardens with a troupe of art students.

She teaches for two days a week in the college annexe less than 200 yards from our house and have made tentative arrangements for her to bring her bike one day.

This evening I have mostly been reminiscing with an old schoolfriend of Wowbagger about audaxing and mutual audax aquaintances of the early 1990s. Earlier in the week we had cause to exchange information about a particular narrow-guage railway line in the GDR.
