I'm about to spend half an hour doing data validation, since it'll be more fun than the three hours of meetings I've got after that.

Validation is soul sucking tedium.  This tells you how much fun the meetings are going to be.

Peli, I totally relate to that, I hate going into restaurants at hotels by myself.

Room service isn't a lot better, but at least you can watch the TV (assuming it has English language channels) or DVDs on a laptop!
