Trying to sort out several thousand pounds of fraudulent activity on my current account. Shit.

Ar$e. I hope you get it all sorted relatively quickly, and without too much faff.

Hang on a minute, weren't you recently ditching HSBC? Is this with them or another account?
What on earth am I doing here on this beautiful day?! This is the only life I've got!!

Thanks Adamski. It's not nice at all.

The recent fraud was on my current account with another well-known High Street bank. It recently happened to me on my credit card (with the same bank). Very frustrating.

My email address and debit card details were used to set up online accounts in my name, and large transactions took place in quick succession to the Carphone Warehouse, O2 and some shoe company I've never heard of. Scary.  The bank didn't alert me, either.

Peli,

I'm sorry to hear of this. Must be awful for you.

I wish there was some way to help you

Wishing we had hot running water - only 8 days without so far - I must be getting soft! And heating would be good....

Relaxing. Worked all day yesterday and a bit today. Thought I had to be at Manchester Uni tomorrow at 8:45 for the Next Generation Internet Symposium but have just checked and I don't need to be there until midday - hurrah !
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

Thanks, Spen. Yes, it's made rather a large hole in our finances and affected me more than I had thought emotionally, too. Not nice at all.

Wondering how our ginger cat and me and Mrs NQL will actually cope when our 14 year old black & white moggy that we've all been with with for almost 13 years succumbs to the illness that we now know that he has.

We're going to have to make the decision that every pet owner faces at some point, I just wish it was months or years away instead of days.

All I can suggest is you buy tickets for the V Festival in Chelmsford, then play the Middle Age card when the truth reveals itself: "Reading? Damn... I thought you said Chelmsford..."

Just finished and emailed a report that I've been trying to get my head around for 27 months

I suddenly realised last week what the key to the problem was, and then it was actually quite easy.

Digesting a rather excellent lunchtime curry from a strange little muslim restaurant in one of Singapore's historical quarters.

I had quail eggs  :D

Just finished writing my CV.

Wondering whether it will be a CLM to submit an internal job application to another department a week before my annual appraisal.

Waiting for an orbit's worth of data to load so I can validate it, then that'll be nine orbits done, with four more to finish tomorrow.

Data validation is tedious...
Actually, it is rocket science.

Sitting shivering in a house of chaos as new boiler fitted - 1600 quid to be cold....I DO hope it'll work SOON.
