Have a bank hoilday clear out of stuff on freecycle, some of the responses are unbelievably rude.

Wondering if certain people have me on ignore and wondering why if they do....

Watching vids on youtube of a group I used to perform with, including some from my days.  Having a bit of a trip down memory lane, but trying not to note how many members have passed away.
;D  Andrij.  I pronounce you Complete and Utter GIT

Been up since 5 with my 3 month old who has conveniently gone back asleep so I'm watching wheeler dealer replays on discovery turbo. The joys of fatherhood

Recovering from the aforementioned trip into town - it wasn't as bad as it could have been, largely because there was water coming out of the sky by the bucketload.

Also discovered that a hypo feels very similar to a caffeine high, and when they both occur at the same time it is a uniquely unpleasant experience

You got a touch of the sugars?

Does it make you feel very disorientated?
Caffeine high plus hypoglycaemia feels like a bit how I imagine an out of body experience might feel.
And not in a good way, either.

Self inflicted, though - my blood sugar was a bit high this morning so I took my pills and went out without having anything to eat, although it didn't stop me having 3 mugs of espresso beforehand - hence the caffeine high as well  The hypo was easily remedied with the aid of Ikea's rather delicious blueberry juice, although I'm still feeling a bit spaced from all the coffee.

What drugs you on?

Oh, bless.  You will sleep again grasshopper.  Eventually.

I can't decide whether to go for my 'mates rated' £300 moving charge, including someone driving the van and lifting stuff for me, or to pay £179.00 to hire a van for the weekend and do it myself with the help of my strapping son.

Do whichever one is the least likely to be more stressful. Lack of stress is worth £121 if that is the better option!

This.

As to whether herding a random man is more or less stressful than dealing with a van hire company, I'll leave as an exercise for the reader.

(My experience is the moving of stuff element is relatively straightforward, and the real stress involved in moving hose comes from dealing with estate agent incompetent scamming weasel bastards, the sorting and packing of things, and the body-breaking allergy-inducing cleaning.  If I were in a position to throw money at the problem, I'd start by getting some cleaners in.)

I'd vote for the cheaper removals and spend the balance on a professional cleaner. The cleaning of a rental house at the end of a tenancy always seems to be a mammoth task, however clean you keep your house IME.

Another generation ago, i know, but i left at 18, returning only for a week whilst i waited for my flat to be ready (after leaving the former Mrs T). My older brother, however, didn't fully leave home until he was in his 30's!
