Trying to get my traps together to go off to Troyes tomorrow for a 600k while waiting for the doc to show up for the Inlaw Paw's monthly check-up but we don't know when the bugger's going to appear but the bloody dogs need out to pee and they can't until he's been and they're restive as hell and meantime I need to alter the IP's online tax return and his machine takes an hour to fire up and the wife's machine hung at lunchtime and it's been CHKDSKing since and she's fuming because she's got a shitload of work in; meantime folk keep showing up at the phyzzy's next door and every time I hear a car door I'm alert for the bloody doc and the wife keeps calling through every time there's new message and I can't remember what I wanted to do next except jack in the whole bloody shebang.

Enjoying my  new back yard.  I was going to go for a bike ride, and the weather's fantastic, but I love seeing the new visitors - so far three species of bee and a green dragonfly, who just seemed to want to sunbathe on one of the containers    It's lovely just watching the flowers grow. 

I hope that's what they're doing

If you get as far as Perigueux stick your head round the door of the Star Inn and say 'hi' to Mike and Bev from me, if they remember me.  They once lent me a bike for a summer (about 20 years ago!) so that I could get to work in the bar whilst living on a campsite 3 miles out of town

I was whacked on the helmet by a 4"(ish) blue dragonfly on our ride on Sunday. Poor devil, can't imagine it did him any good. Quite a crack. Must inspect hat for damage.

Lots of pilgrims here as well, scallop shells on the back of rucksacks.

My current thoughts are that this is a proper retirement but I have made a concious decision not to make any decisions. Apart from that one. It might turn into something less if after a few months I feel I want something more. And I think that we can all relate to that.
