Fuming, angry, upset and shaking after a horrible altercation with a driver this morning (who barged out from a side road when I had right of way, and proceeded to verbally abuse me for the next ten minutes).

Bully. What's the point of picking on a woman (or anyone) like that? Git. Too many @rseholes on the road. I've really noticed it the last couple of days, having been pretty much off the bike for a couple of weeks. Left hooks aplenty, changing lane abruptly without looking, and, yes, barging out of sideroads. I've not lost count of the E-stops on a ride before. And I'm deliberately not reacting, gesturing or swearing, and riding with my eyes a long way ahead, not taking the marginal gaps. Still I get them. It's not something about me attracting them, it's that attitude out on the road.

I haven't had anyone berating me like that, though, probably because I'm bigger than you, Peli, and bullies are almost always cowards.

I didn't know they were playing tonight. Hmm... must watch some of that. But it will probably depress me. Wales will have to improve hugely on their last two games to stand a chance on what seemed to me to be a very effective French side against the Irish a couple of weeks ago.

Watching Mastercrafts. My Grandad was the village Blacksmith. My Ma is feeling a bit low today (she's 87 and not well) and was looking forward to hearing the "ring of the anvil".

I hope one day to have Grandad's anvil in my house as a prized ornament.
