The Maoris fought the Brits to the point that they signed the Treaty of Waitangi. Can't think of any other native folk that managed that. The treaty means that NZ could be described as 'less occupied' than most other former colonies.

If he was a tool, he might have been useful for something, getting a Marc Almond out of a schoolboy or something!

Jeremy "I've gone to A&E rather than wait to see a GP" Hunt

About the only good thing I can take from this is that he might have seen first-hand some of the carnage his privatisation by stealth (and other, less stealthy, methods) is doing to the NHS.

Other than that, he's a chinless cunt of the highest order.

Not quite. The wars between Maori & British settlers & troops were after the treaty.

The Maori did fight damned well, though, & when the wars stopped, there were still sizable areas effectively under Maori rule. They were gradually absorbed into the colony by peaceful integration into the economy & administration of the colony.

The Maori honed their skill at using firearms, & devised tactics for countering them, in the Musket Wars between Maori tribes, from the early 1800s up to about 1840. They got rather good at building fortifications able to withstand artillery, for example. They also built up quite a stock of guns, bought from European traders.

He hasn't thought this through, as it allows special privileges to the descendants of Communists and socialists.

And, conversely, suggests we should deport most of the aristos.

And precludes reconciliation (something I feel very strongly about, particularly in the context Tebbs has just invoked - oh so extremely simplistically)

Mr Farage. Please could you perhaps sit in a corner and shut up. You are embarrassing us and making us feel awkward.

Breastfeeding doesn't get much more British and ostentatious than this.

Nigel Farage (as a pre-emptive strike.  Let's face it, it can't be long until he says something twattish again).

Something like this, perhaps:

He told LBC radio: “You look at all the other leaders of political parties. They, of course, all have the state provide them with, you know, the means to get around and with security. The state doesn’t provide Ukip with anything.

He said the government has previously refused his request for help with his security bills.

“I’m not having an argument over it, the fact is we don’t get help. Do I need a security? Yes. And do I need to be driven around from place to place? I think I probably do,” he said.

I'll be honest, I think babies should be kept in sealed boxes and fed biscuits and money through a slot until they're 18. It's the only way. Mind you, I find the entire breast-feeding thing a bit odd. I've never been offended. There's plenty of men willing to spend good money just to see breasts. I expect most women can get the same for free. All the rather odd comparisons with public urination and sex. Really, they think feeding a baby is akin to taking a piss? It must make dinner an odd experience for them.

I think on the subject of good manners, Mr Delingpole, that it ought to be good manners not to make such a cunt of yourself in public.
