Scottish Borders Super Randonneur Series 2019
« on: December 03, 2018, 11:35:00 am »
For 2019 there will be a full facilities Scottish Borders Randonneurs SR series which will not only allow people to qualify for PBP in plenty of style but also come and enjoy some of the best scenery and quiet roads on the planet with good accommodation available locally and direct train link from Galashiels to Edinburgh making it easy to access.

The HQ at Galashiels has showers and changing facilities available and all food here both at the finish and at the end of the three loops on the 600k will be included in entry fees. The are good well spaced controls throughout for refuelling on all routes.

Although it is a hilly area our climbs are nearly all very well graded allowing time to take in the views before a marvellous gradual descent.

There are also shorter supporting events on most dates for those preferring to be home for tea and under the duvet at night.

For those completing an SR of Scottish events using at least one of the Borders events a free SR Ecosse medal and patch will be available.

There will also be included a Scottish Borders Randonneurs award for those completing the full SR of events and also an award for the shorter events for anyone completing a series of 100k/160km/200km.

There are two additional 200k/100k events locally which will also count running from Selkirk and Hawick. Links included below.

More info and entries available as usual from the AUK calendar at the following links for the Galashiels starts:

Hope to see some of you there in 2019.

Provisional information has now gone out to entrants for our 400/600km to allow for ride/sleep plans to be made.

Still places left but as expected this year events are filling up fast. 8)
