You know it's not your day when...

...you get a puncture on the turbo trainer. Just as I was cranking out a mighty 230 watts mid way through a ramp test as well.

Turns out a ParkTool tyre boot had stuck to the inner tube, presumably because it got hot, and pulled a tear in the tube. The cut in the tyre was tiny and I dithered at the time on whether it justifed a boot. Now removed and all seems well.

Give me your best, 'I wish I hadn't started this' stories.

... your lights die 5 minutes into your ride. One September evening my brother's wife had her 40th birthday celebration. As I set off it started raining. 5 minutes into the ride my front light faded to nothing because I had not used the light during the summer and the batteries now needed charging. I gave up and returned home.

...when I get up in the morning.
I've dusted all those old bottles and set them up straight.

You lucky chap! I'd rather have a puncture on the turbo trainer than in the cold outdoor!

One puncture? Would be interesting to hear of the other afflictions that have turned out to have marred your day. :-D
