Pasela PT 32mm: New to 3000km
« on: June 07, 2020, 02:05:34 pm »
Since 2019 I've been using Panaracer Pasela PT 32mm on my steel bike, on Oxfordshire's variable (often poor) roads, tracks, and Bridleways (vv tile bagging).  For the riding I do, they seem great.  Generally run at front 65psi: rear 80-85psi (rider: 78kg ish).      *Used 2950km tyres are now on another bike, new tyres those in images...

Front tyre on my rims measured at '31mm' width.  330g ish.
No p*nctures in 2950km.
The 2950km rear tyres have more wear than the front.  I guess this is expected; whether they have worn more than at lower psi than the 95psi max stated on tyres - not sure.

I think it's normal for rears to wear quicker!

They're looking good. Paselas were all the rage in about 2007! I only rode 25mm then. Useful report.
Has never ridden RAAM

I'm expecting to see a lot more of them now that tan sidewalls are back in fashion, Panaracer must be glad they didn't drop them.
My experience over several pairs in different sizes was the puncture protection was great until they looked about 3/4 worn, then it was dreadful, it might have been coincidence, but was enough to stop me using them.

This is true, but hasn't stopped me using them. The amount of use I get out of them up to that point is substantial so they are good value for money, even though they don't look completely worn out when they are discarded.
