I really feel that Roger Allum would make an awesome Maigret. Especially if transferring the character adopted in Endeavour. YMMV, discuss.

I think you're right. Though I have fond memories of the "original" Rupert Davies. I also like Rowan Atkinson's portrayals, and they were superbly filmed.

I'm no aficionado but I did enjoy the ones with Michael Gambon. I have a French DVD with Bruno Cremer in the main part, though I've only watched one story. A little dour as I recall.

Definitely - I'd forgotten that. He's actually the one I've most recently caught up with, and he's on 10 in about half an hour!
