Cracking game. I might have been inclined to give MotM to the guy who was sent off.

So that's the match over after 90secs.

How wrong can you be?!

And just for once I had the sound on in the secons half.  Commentator trying desperately to be down with the kids (and this is rugger, for God's sake) managed at least 7 "put in a shift"s before I turned him off.  But the match was terrific.

I would have given man of the match to the winger deputising in the scrum. I haven't seen scrummaging that effective for ages.

Jack Nowell.  Yes, he was very good, wasn't he?  I'd have chosen Keenan, the Irish full back.  He was a terrific catcher under pressure.  But everyone put on a show (albeit some were shorter than others!)  Best game I've watched for ages.  (Is the injured Irishman going to be ok?)

Concerning the future of Italy in the 6 Nations: if this U20s match is anything to go by, they've not got much to worry about. They drubbed Scotland. I thought it was lovely having a woman referee as well.

Great crowd for a "B" match!

Over in terms of a win.  Tried hard, but with a man short, pretty unlikely to happen for England.

OK, Andy.  Call me old-fashioned, nay, Olympian even(!) but I always want the game to be a spectacle.  In these days when international teams tend to have international players, rather than national players, the result bothers me less than game itself.

I hear you, though I'll definitely take 'winning ugly' against certain teams.   ;)  Just disappointing really; team below full potential.

Yes, Andy, if I'm honest I probably agree with you.  Certainly with the last statement.  I wonder, did you think that Marcus Smith was a little off the boil this time?  Played the same pass almost every time, it seemed to me.  But when he is good, he is very, very good.  I just hope he doesn't fizzle out.

Not sure, but he kicked all of England's points to draw level, & Sexton said he controlled the game well - still only 23, should be fine.  :)

Regarding Golden Boys, Rees-Zammit has been conspicuous by his absence after a spectacular start to his career.

Quite possibly the last appearance in the 6 Nations for Alun Wyn Jones.  He's not going to be happy if Wales don't pull their socks up.

Oh. While I was typing, they did.
Admission.  I'm actually not that fussed about cake.

Well done the Azurri, and maybe that'll kick the talk about relegation or pre-qualifying for the 6 Nations into touch.

With Italy avoiding the wooden spoon*, on wonders if England can deprive France of the Grand Slam.

*assuming you beleive the wooden spoon is for losing every match rather than just coming last.
