Still haven't fettled the front dérailleur on the flat bar on the current bike.  So just stick it in the middle cog and leave it like that....

I haven't even got round to fitting the front derailleur or left hand shifter to my hybrid, so it's been in the middle ring for months.

Shall we have a competition on to the things I haven't done ;)

Oiled Teethgrinder's chain and wiped off some of the mud.

I thought you said he'd had a shower :P

These euphemisms always stuff me up; Teethgrinder is pretty much a man-machine anyway!

HK washed her Condor commuter after riding with TG. I flint-mined various tyres and swapped out the cut and worn-out ones. The mudguard rivets on my fixed commuter keep corroding off, so replaced several of them with SS bolts and Nylocs. Replaced the slow leaky rear tube on my 1954 Claud Butler. Mostly dismantled our Moultons for repainting but still a bit more to go before they are sent off later this week. Still need to have a good look at HK's MTB commuter.

Not today, for today was a day of relaxation and enjoyment, but yesterday:

Removed the back wheel from the Bendy Bike wot I bought off dear jogler a couple of years back, as the tyre was mysteriously flat. No fault found, so replaced it and pumped it up. Comedy moment when I couldn't find the spanner. Eventually located stuck to the magnetic catch part of the Bendy mechanism.

Cleaned the new Moss Green Mercian to DETH. And oiled the chain taaw.

Removed the sealed bearings from the back wheel of the fixer as they are shagged. Only mild use of hammer required.  Will obtain replacements from a Bearings R Us type shop tomorrow. (6000 series with suffix letters that make No Sense).

A little fine truing to the rear wheel of the Miggins trike and refitting of the rear mudguard.

Close enough, seeing as I used chainsaw oil.

ime, chain and cassette wear ratio corresponds to brake pad and rim wear, roughly 3:1

Hmm, I've not calculated it that carefully, and I'm incredibly idle about changing components that still work. Damn, I might have start a new spreadsheet ;D

Anyway, I just tried to tighten the slack-as-fuck* chain on my commuter, to no avail, as the wheel's already as far back as it'll go in the dropouts.

I was hoping to ride a different bike tomorrow, but I've just caught the forecast, and I'll stick with studded tyres, thanks.

Obtained replacement bearings yesterday from Bearings R Us type shop in Thetford yesterday (I was up that way for work). A tenner a pop was a bit eye watering, but the Nice Lady decided I didn't need cheap Chinese rubbish, when reassuringly expensive Japanese non-rubbish was available.

Fitted them this evening with the help of two penny washers and track nuts, so the washers were bearing (hah!) on the hole of the bearing when I tightened the nuts. All good.

Washed the tourer which was filthy. Noticed wear and tear beginning to show on frame, paint finish fairly fragile. Time for a Humbrol colour match thinks. Polished my bell which came up beautifully.

Stuck a BG Riva saddle on the Brompton, in the hope it might be more soft-tissue-friendly than the stock Brompton one.  In the lower clamp position, this pleasingly has the side effect of lowering the seat height by almost exactly the amount I need the seatpost down from full extension[1] (at least for winter SPD boots, I may need to lower it for other shoes / flat pedals).  A brief test ride seemed promising, but you know how it is with saddles...

[1] Short cranks => higher seatpost than you'd expect for my height.

Eleventy billion headsets.

Well, not really but it felt like it.  A very long day of scrambling about under desks and fiddling with audio splitters and audio settings.

A jungle.

Or two overgrown twiggy trees.  More needs doing, but I cleared enough to get to sort out some cover for bikes.
Getting there...

I think technically mine's supposed to go "dring dring". (Other novelty designs are available)

Spent all afternoon fettling a tree wot got blown over in the garden earlier this week into firewood.
My arms and upper body are aching from holding the chainsaw.
