Top kit. Top company.

Not perfect - they dont always get back immediately on the mail or the phone, but i can live with that

I've had a Pompino for 2+ years now and if it got nicked (its my work bike) i'd go and buy the same again, no question. biggest smile factor bike i got and the one i always roll out if im just nipping out......... 8)

and now got a Planet X team alu - nothing to touch it for the proper price of £350 for frame never mind at the recent bargain prices (ok - other alu frames are available)

great company to have at the end of the t'interweb

Only ever bought from them once but it wasn't a great experience.

Got some C+ rated handbuilt wheels that took 4 weeks to arrive (admittedly I think their wheelbuilder was on holiday), that were actually a bit expensive considering what I could have had from Paul Hewitt or Harry Rowland, and they had to go back for a rebuild twice because they constantly went out of true and no amount of nipple tweaking kept them straight (they admitted the first set had been built by an apprentice and had been laced wrong). Third time I got sick of it and spent £10 at the LBS having them re-tensioned instead of spending £15 sending them back, and they've been fine ever since.

I might still use them in the future, as they do have some pretty nice stuff (especially the track frame they had on offer recently), but it'll only be for parts off the shelf. I just don't trust em to build anything anymore.

Ordered two pairs of overshoes & a Phaart light from Planet X at 11 am yesterday.

Came back from a walk this morning to find a Royal Mail card through the door. The van was still in the street, parked while the postman was in the sub post office round the corner. I intercepted him just before he got back to his van, waving the card, & he instantly understood what I wanted & got it out of the van for me. With a smile, too.

Yes, it was my Planet X delivery.

Superb service, from both Planet X & the post. 10/10. 23 hours from order to delivery.

Ordered a Tektro CR520 brakeset, bar tape and rim tape from Planet-X early friday morning.
Just received a delivery, 10:55 am Saturday morning.
Certainly prompt delivery.

Except, it's not CR520 brakes I received, but Tektro Quartz Dual pivots.....   >:(

-- Edit -- Tried to phone them, end up ringing through to an answering machine "Please leave your message and phone number and we'll get back to you".
Polite email sent advising them of their error.....

Quick service, generally some great prices, but.... you have to know exactly what you are buying. Some of their own brand stuff is utter shite, and they specialise in grey imports from unofficial sources.

If you know what you are doing they can be the best source for certain things. If you don't, beware...

Got email from them today apologising for the mistake, and that I should send the wrong brakes back to them, and they'll send the correct brakes out in return, and refund my postage costs.

Can't say fairer than that, although such mistakes shouldn't really happen....

Ordered some bits (crank puller, wall hooks, brakes) from them. Cheap!

Prompt delivery, minus one set of brakes (advertised as a pair, front and rear on the web, one only arrived). Phoned them this morning. "Terribly sorry, I'll get the other one sent out now".

Can't say fairer than that.

I just wish they'd stop bombarding me with e-mails.

The Merino wool zip cardigans are a lovely piece of kit for £29.99. They say On One across the chest but come in the Gios and Molteni colour scheme. Bit cheaper than the Prendas version - you obviously get what you pay for. There version looks a stunning piece of kit.

I'm having a bit of 'mare with them at the moment.
Ordered, on August 3rd, a frame & forks they had (and still show as) available from stock, along with headset and fitting thereof.
8th August, called them to ask where is it?   Just waiting derailleur hanger, should be in tomorrow.
13th August called again.  Hangers have been delayed, now due on 15th.
20th August, emailed to ask what they were doing?  No response.
23 August, status has now changed from "waiting stock" to "ready to pick"
I'm just hoping that they don't now tell me there is a problem with the headset...

They are pretty poor at sending what you ordered.

2 of my last 3 orders from Planet-X have been wrong.
a) Berthoud 60mm stainless mudguards "for tire from 700C x 2,00 to 2,35 inches", but what I got was the 40mm model, for tyres up to 32c approx. They now list the size as 40, but still describe it as "for tire from 700C x 2,00 to 2,35 inches".
b) ordered 4 x Vittoria Randonneur Hyper, and got one, plus 3 x Vittoria Something Else. The packing note said 1 x Hyper from one bin, and 3 x Hyper from a different bin

One-One have been correct, so far.

I always order from the On One site rather than the Planet X one, but I thought they had the same warehouse and pickers? ???

Not had any problems with any orders from them so far. Tend to send the stuff out quickly and have packed the correct items for me :)

The pickers are a bit rubbish, aren't they? I ordered, amongst other things, six skullie lights, three red and three white, and whoever picks the orders obviously didn't look at the amount, as they've only sent one of each. I've used their crappy contact page to tell them.

As an added bonus, I also received someone else's delivery note (though not their order).

FRom experience their contact page is shite.

The best, and sometimes only way, to get things resolved is to call them.

Put an order for new lights and brakes though last week. They turned up fine (if a day later than some stuff from CRC).

Confusingly they were posted with Royal Mail but were in a Yodel plastic wrapper. This may be a warning about the couriers they use for people buying larger items.

I don't know what they're playing at, I've ordered a pair of waterproof overshoes and they've sent me the wind proof ones. I can't be arsed to send them back.

There's a few retailers I've purchased off over the past few weeks who've cocked deliveries up. I know it gets sorted eventually but it's the inconvenience of returning and waiting for another delivery or collecting from the sorting office!

Hope you get your lights!

Have read the previous posts and see feelings are often negative about Planet X.  I'd only ever used them for small stuff until now.  They've always been fast and always delivered the right goods.

I was recently let down on a Fleabay purchase for a Charge Filter Apex from A N Other company.  Arrived so badly damaged that it was unrideable.  As a consequence and having sold my hack in the meantime I got straight onto PX for the Kaffenback 2 I'd been ogling before the Fleabay 'bargain' cropped up.  Medium in black, no special customisation other than a swap to alloy seat post as don't like hanging a seat post mounted rack/bag on carbon.  Ordered 31st January, late evening.  Emailed me Saturday to say thanks for order and the bike would be built on 13th Feb.  Very precise.  I emailed back to say would they like to stall the order as I'm away from 16th-23rd and can't take delivery.  'No probs' they say  - build it 13th, delivered 14th.  Sure enough it arrived at 6pm this evening via Yodel.

Love their packaging.  One huge box with a ready built bike in it - nowt else.  Turn the bars, flip them up to horizontal, measure the crank to seat length and adjust, fit pedals and you're on the road.  Bike is in spot on condition and very well fettled.  Will sort guards, lights, bottle cages etc tomorrow but am VERY impressed by them so far.
