I don't know whether Buttler's response is reported correctly or if his "determination to remain captain" is journo-speak but if he actually did say that unprompted then, where is self-respect (I don't mean self-regard)? He's had an awful series, as have almost all of them. He could at least offer to go and then see if the board try and persuade him to stay. Does he have a say in who plays? What the Aussies, NZ, India and SA do is work out who their best players are and pick them for all types of cricket (or so it seems to me, at least). It seems to work for them.
