The famous Karsh photo of Winston Churchill was taken just after Karsh had swiped his cigar, hence the scowl.  Bob Carlos Clarke's photo of Marco Pierre White with a meat cleaver was also taken after Clarke had wound him up about something and then yelled at White just as he was going back into his kitchen.
