Bum cream and TF2.

Probably best not to get those mixed up.

Just ordered a Charge Spoon for not a lot from Wiggle. My old Brooks B17s has been making me a bit uncomfortable recently, so thought I would give one a try. Clarion will be pleased.  :-D   I do also have a Brooks Pro in reserve.

A Moulton TSR (or most of one; I'm changing a few bits) from slope.  I'd get it running but I need some brake levers to turn up in the post.  It's not a TSR-anything because it was bought as a frameset from new but I'm going to run it as a 1 x 9, so it's sort of a TSR9 with caliper brakes and much better bits.
Never tell me the odds.

Don't normally buy stuff remarkable enough for this thread but today is a bit different.

Ex Rabobank, 54cm, Colnago CX frame set.

Slope gave up his Moulton? Say it ain’t so!

Torslanda: Colnago sponsored Rabobank for a very long time. What sort of year are we talking about? Pics!

Haven't been able to do pics since photobucket fucked it. Looks reasonably modern, alloy/carbon, HII BB and stunning black with orange highlights finish.

Will be about a week from Holland, you'll just have to be patient...

Just in case anyone is looking at this and thinking 'what kind of knob buys something without doing any research?' it's for a customer.

He sent me a link and said "I want *that* one!"

Mrs Vorsprung and Vorsprung junior were banging on about helmets this morning

So it reminded me that my current "best" helmet is in a ropey state and the spare isn't much better

I found my favourite size/colour/type  (Large/White/Giro Aeon) on special offer and bought two

The local car accessory shop had some touch up paint which is an exact match for the Moulton ivory.

Re pics, I switched to Flickr. Similar to use to photobucket.

Photobucket's ransomware imagery isn't a problem if you download the Photobucket fixer plugin!

An UNO stem turned up from China for the Moulton (I have some 31.8 silver bars I want to use).  It cost 12 quid.  Comparing it to the OEM Moulton one, I now know where Moulton source their £35 alloy stems.  Nice markup.
Never tell me the odds.

Just done 43 miles on the Charge Spoon. How to summarise........If I had wanted to abrade my arse with a 60 grade carbide sanding belt followed by criss crossing it with razer blades and  thumping my sit bones several times with a lump hammer this would perhaps indicate what a joyous and positive experience it was/is. My backside is positively glowing. I do not know if this can be overcome with time but I doubt it. Any alternative suggestions? Otherwise back to Mssrs Brooks thinks.

If I get rid of it John you will be more than welcome to it. Must say I am a tad disappointed as it is very light and does not seem to impact negatively on the perineum. Gonna give the Pro a try.

Finally actually ordered the bits.  After a few texts between us, being told I am rude, decided to just order the bits and get it over an done with.

New Topeak Fuel Tank as I pulled the zip off the last one (it was all corroded and I'd unstuck it at least once with vinegar).

New Crudracer mudguards for the Wilier as it just ate the most recent ones after a long muddy ride.

Long sleeve running top as it was half price and I need one for doing the school running club (slow pace and quite a bit of time stopped for others to catch up; when I run at my own pace I generate enough heat to get by with a short sleeve top).

45NRTH Wolvhammer Cycling boots, as described here: https://www.rei.com/product/109292/45nrth-wolvhammer-cycling-boots-mens-2017

Last year's model, so just less than half the regular price, which was nice. Tested them out yesterday on the commute, at -8.5 deg C, and my feet were nice and warm. I'm told these are what the pedicab riders in Denver wear in winter, which makes sense. They're much easier to deal with than the neoprene shoe covers on my MTB shoes, which is what I had been using.

An aluminium fork lamp bracket (these are very rare - nearly all are steel) to fill the 5/16" hole on the Holdsworth. They are actually useful since you can fit a little Lezyne Femto Drive blinky to them if there's no space on the bars, which there isn't.
