Given that a Brompton is about the same weight as barakta's trike battery, I can recommend not taking the piss on corners with that setup.

Thankfully, the generally 'piss taking when on a trike bend' on my commute is a homeward bound one. I shall be 'getting my knee down' on the Brommie. Should be an education.

A pair of new wheels for the road bike. Open Pro rims on 105 5800 hubs and a far more comforting number of spokes than the current set.

A new multi tool, including a CO2 thingy and some Lezyne alloy tyre levers after I snapped a plastic Park lever. I've always used a pump before so the CO2 is a new adventure for me but wiffle sold me a half a dozen cartridges for <£6 so I though I'd give it a go.

I've got one of those in Oz. A lovely piece of kit generally with only a couple of average items.

Having discovered that I've inadvertently crushed my bar where the stem clamp is, (not helped by last night's little bump) I've had to buy a new handlebar. From Amazon.
Because not a single feckin lbs (not even Evans) around the Urmston/Trafford area has a 31.8 46cm drop bar for under 20 quid!
So the bike is off the road till next Monday at the earliest.  :demon:

A set of Altura Fuse panniers half price at Evans, arrived today. At £55 the pair (for the 42 litre version) they are excellent value.

The construction is standard good Altura, meaning that they are what they say - waterproof, welded taped seams with zip pockets (one outside, two inside), a drawstring top and R&K fittings. To me this means that they are waterproof and will stand up to the occasional use for touring etc well; if used for London commuting they would likely stop being waterproof after a year or so. Reasonably lightweight - 1.8Kg the pair.

Anyone interested, there is an Evans website code valid to the end of today (1/3) for £10 off minimum of £75 spend on their new website -"GOLIVE" (I bought a pair of shoes @ 30% off)

A frame . . .

. . . but I won't get it until after Easter, from the most incredible collection of steel road frames I have ever seen. Gazelle, Colnago, Bianchi. You name it, the guy's probably got it.

Components? Ever wondered where all the polished Centaur or champagne 105 or tricolor 600 went to? Pantographed Benotto, Colnago, Gios, the works.

I'll be visiting while we are in the Netherlands early April. This could get messy - or expensive - or both!

An Assos tiburu jersey/jacket - with the sale price and use of a few voucher codes it was actually less than the Endura one I was looking at in the LBS, I'll call that a result.

A pair of Hope Vision 1s.
Yes, I know I already have a pair, but they're fast approaching a decade of use and my ancient Cateye EL530s have finally expired - leaving me without a back-up light, and Evan$ had them down from £80.00 to £64.00, plus I had a Here's-a-voucher-for-a-tenner-cos we've-been-outstandingly-carp-recently, from them. So it didn't make much sense not to.
Oh, and a couple of Exposure cleats, for that click of satisfaction.
Verdict on the new ones?
Fewer pounds, more brightness.

A pair of Hope Vision 1s.
This fact was cause of much merriment, and indeed childish giggling on a FNRTTC (the Southend one where you missed the start). We were hanging around in deepest Essex, waiting for someone to fix a puncture. People were pootling up and down the road, to keep warm and occupied. Pippsy, who was riding the front of the Pino, decided an approaching rider was you. "That's Jurek" she said "He's got two Hopes" <pause> "Bob Hope and ..."<trail off into childish giggling>

I guess you had to be there.

Anyway, today I bought one of those gear hanger alignment tools.

Less 'missed the start'.
More 'you left without me'.
I thought I did well to catch you.

I got one of those recently. Very useful. It's been deployed twice and has produced a result both times. A very useful tool in the armoury.
