Portland mudguards should be arriving today to replace the broken SKS pair on the Omega.

I'm trialling a Rivet saddle (from Carradice) to replace the ancient Brookses.  If it works (seems good so far) I'll buy another for the fixed.

Fed up with small nuts and bolts etc falling on the floor so bought a Park Tools magnetic bowl . . . and while I was there a tube of anti-seize and (having sold loads of "stuff" and a pair of wheels) as a present to myself a Park Tools mechanic's apron that was heavily discounted at the CR emporium

How long does it run at 100 lumens?  I was looking at the Moon Nebula and clones, but the run time at full power isn't enough for a day ride, which is the time that I'd want the full brightness for.

From memory the minimum runtime listed is 10 hours on ultrabright which, honestly, is ridiculous. If you had a rider behind, he'd probably want to kill you if he could still see past the sunspots.
I'll check bumpf that came with it, and see if it checks out in use.

There's a review here of a pre-production unit that says 7.5 hours at full whack. http://www.londoncyclist.co.uk/blaze-burner-rear-light-review/ Maybe they're right. I do know that the light is meant to drop back to standard brightness once the charge gets low and that is meant to give you 5 hours before the light goes out.

One thing that isn't great is they've removed the "bayonet" style fitting lugs so the light can rotate. It doesn't move a whole lot, but I wouldn't want to put it on a seatstay if it could reach the spokes.

Edit:
the instructions claim the following runtimes/mode
5H on Full Bright
60H normal steady
10H sweep
18H Beating
18H Chase
10H Sides

Just to show how bright this thing is on full power:

In this unscientific test I'd say that the burner is as bright as the fog lights of a Range Rover. The central light in the picture is the blaze burner resting on the rear bumper.

One of these.
The Brompton is due some major changes to the transmission this weekend, and I figured that this would be the badger for the job.
Parcelforce delivered it a moment ago.
On removal from its box it was found to be ver', ver' cold - but I notice that the rooftops where the sun hasn't yet  reached
still have last night's frost on them.

Couple of connectors and a bit of cable so that I can put lights on the Surly to make it sellable and get it out of my bloody way.
I've dusted off all those old bottles and set them up straight

An MTB. :o Only a cheapy Carrera one - I finally got round to taking my old hybrid to the local bike recycling place last weekend, so there was a hole in the stable. I don't expect to ride it much (hence getting a cheap one) but it might be fun if it snows, or something (and it's purple).

A pair of Conti Double Fighter IIIs, for TLD's Cube.  This is 'cos she is doing a C-t-C, in June and the stock tyres are great for mud, not so great on road.

New turbo trainer. Vastly superior to the Aldi TSO I had before. Almost a pleasure to ride (along to Wagner's Ring cycle)

For me, just some touch up paint, I still need to get some brakes for the road bike.

A pair of Deore XT pedals (for Barbara) a spare set of cleats and some Pedros Go Lube, I know I know, lube isn't exciting but we'd be screwed without it.

Not exactly today but a real score. Most of a Giant OCR3 for fifty quid!

No special favours, a customer listed it on a facebook cycling group and, knowing the bike to have been well kept, I couldn't resist. I haz road bike . . .

It's lovely but why would you buy something that old to give it an even harder life?

I'm after a bike that is 'different' from the rest, that is cheap, in good condition, and that is fairly lightweight (531 steel or similar) .... I will add a Son dynamo hub/lights, rack, pannier bags etc and use it for long audax rides

I have fast new bikes (S-Works and Giant TCR), so am looking for something fairly cheap.... I'd love a Koga Miyata but I cannot find one in my size/budget that has eyelets for mudguards/racks (I used to own a Koga Miyata Roadchamp and it was brilliant)  .... I'm also looking at the older Peugeot PX10's or similar .... hoping to get something by the end of the weekend
