« on: 09 January, 2009, 06:32:19 pm »
Looks like we've got a good crew together for this ride, but there's always room for more. Any lurkers thinking about joining us should make themselves known - at this rate Cyclops might run out of cards! We'll be starting at 8am - exact start location TBA, probably the nearest newsagents to the Old Town Hall open at 8am on a Sunday!

Riders for this Perm on Sunday 8th March -

Valkyrie
Mercury Kev
Noodley
Cyclops
Y Lee G
Eck
RJMcB
Applebag
the Cormorant

Valkyrie, I was just thinking today that I'd like to ride this perm soon.  I'd be up for either the 7th or 8th - count me in.

I should have mentioned, the Sunday would be preferred.  I can't make the Saturday.  But still need to check for Sunday.

So that I can get this into the domestic calendar, can I assume we're on for Sunday 8th March for a guided tour of Cyclops' shiny new permanent 200k?

Bugger.

Came off my bike on Thursday night on a stretch of temporary bike path at South Gyle and broke my wrist.  Estimated 4-6 weeks in plaster so this might be my comeback ride.

Sooooooo not happy.   >:(

Rotten luck, Y Lee G . Hope you're fully fit for the Saltire & the 8some.

Given your accident and Cyclop's recent experiences, I'm starting to think that Edinburgh Cycle Paths are extremely dangerous places!

Aye, bad news Mr Y Lee.  Did you have to splint your arm using your pump and some zip ties?  :o

Valkyrie, please put me down.  For the ride.  I take it I'll have to go back to all this gears nonsense soon.  :-\

No.  To my eternal shame I didnt have any zip ties with me - I'm sure I'll be summarily dismissed from Audax Ecosse as a result.

However, given that I had little option but to push my bike home I did fashion a support out of a spare inner tube.  Unfortunately my neck ended up as black as the ace of spades as a result - not a good look.

BTW, the waiting room in the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary at 2am was strangely reminiscent of Johstonebridge services.

Fewer weirdos though.   :D

Hope to make it the 8th.

I'm now intrigued as to how you came to be using icy cyclepaths in the middle of the night ???

If you want weirdos for company, it's always best to bring your own. As you'll see from the start list, we're well on the way to re-creating the Johnstonebridge ensemble.  ;D
