OK, early topic to start whipping ourselves up into a frenzy about this one.

And it's starting to appear in other threads so I'll start a proper topic for it.

As for the OP.  Come and do the BCM, you'll meet quite a few YACFers this year I think.

Chillmoister (1st 600)
Urban_biker (1st 600)
Keeks (1st 600)
Swarm_catcher (1st 600 - LEL prep)
Hummers (LEL Prep)
Me (fun?  really?)

I know for sure that I'll be pushing the time limit very close (if I manage to get the right side of it at all) but I suspect it will be good prep for LEL

I'm in. (Entered ages ago). 2004 route, not the scenic.
On fixed. :)
Accommodation booked (Severn View Services both Friday and Sunday) - No spare space yet.
I'll be getting the train to Bristol Parkway on Friday evening and going back to London on Monday morning (I'll just get to work at 11am or so).

As you may have noticed above- I'm in! Accomodation booked at Severn View Friday and Sunday. Yet to apply for the BCM yet though.

Feeling pretty nervous about it right now after completing my first 200k of the year on Sunday. Made me realise just how much I have to do to be ready.

As long as I don't have a repeat of last year's knee crisis, I'll be there too.

Aargh! It's the same weekend as Wood Festival. I'll have to find another 600... There goes the whole evening of boozes Juliet promised me if I finish the BCM by Brompton :-(

Jasmine and I will be there.  Probably on tandem, almost definitely on the 2004 version.  This will be my 3rd BCM.  Still the only 600 I've tackled, although I'm hoping to broaden my horizon's in that regard this year, as long as I can fit some riding in around the rowing calendar...

The Audax bug?  Too late, I've caught it.

I think I'd better send off my application

Coo, this is a bit early, isn't it? Should I be looking at accomodation and suchlike?

I was planning to enter this and the Severn Across 400 two weeks beforehand, and actually _start_ the BCM if I didn't die on the 400.

You can definitely leave it too late (Chepstow Races, Cardiff Stadium events and such like can fill hotels/B&Bs for miles as I found out)

There's never too early to get the cheap deals.

I'm paying £39.50 total for my two nights in the (Bristol Severn View) Travelodge. The Friday night is already up to £42 but rooms are available on the Sunday for £19.

Can't book the trains until mid-Feb-ish, but getting in early it should be as cheap as £10 each way (compared to a £49 off-peak return available on the day). One of the important bits is getting the bike reservation done.

Severn Across is a lovely ride. I'd be doing it again this year but I've run out of brownie points (I'm doing the Elenith the weekend before, followed by the BCM on the 16th and then a DIY400 on the 26th of May).

Also, there seem to be a lot more people signing up for the big rides this year although I have no proof that this is the case, it just looks that way.

No - the Yellow Squirty Horror

There was something dodgy in the water at King's YHA in Dolgellau and upwards of a hundred filthy randonneurs all wanting an epic poo didn't help the situation much.  Take Puritabs.  Srsly.

I'm still deciding if I want to do this ride.  It's an absolute epic and it would be a fabulous jaunt on the tandem.  But having done it a couple of times already, I know just how bloody tough it is...

Did you do the scenic in 2008?  If not, you know what you have to do  :demon:

2004 for me, I think.  Hopefully I'll be able to ride the descent into Llanberis in daylight this year.

I will be in and plan to either keep Pumpe or Paul and Chris company again.  Perhaps we can do it a bit quicker this year if I don't pfaff so much.  ;D

Can I                                                                                                                   touch you?

In that special place?

That is the Bulwark Community Centre.

Scenic for me.

Chris & I have already discussed plans for a rather quicker trip out to the YH this time, and GruB we know you were running at about 10% last year so we'll be expecting a good lead out this time.   Don't forget to save some battery life for your late night tunes this time. ::-)

Fear not Charlotte, for I have a "Cunning PlanTM"
If you ride some of my winter 600 Series rides, the BC will seem like a doddle

You mean, you've snogged Hummers before in 1996? :o

I may be riding. If my PBP tandem pilot is riding, then I am too. If he's not riding, I still might ride it anyway. Not definite yet.
