Yay, n+1 applied to cats.
He's sitting there looking very regal, albeit maybe a bit concerned.
Ha - a friend commented last night that we'll end up with more cats than bikes soon - I assured him that this will not be the case. Two is a good number of cats, two bikes is far too few for two people.
He's a very handsome fellow, and I am sure he will venture out more and more over the next few days. He was very approachable and friendly in his original house, so it's just a question of settling a bit now. He has lived in the same block of flats for his entire 10 months, never been outside or anything, so a trip in a cat-carrier across London must have been very scary, though he was as good as gold on the train.
He'll settle soon enough I am sure. He'll be off to the vets on Thursday for a bit more upheaval (jabs, chipping and the chop) - we'll then take it as it comes as to introductions with Chilli. The vet doesn't see any problems once he's been fixed (Chilli is spayed), suggesting to give him another few days after the chop before they are properly introduced. Chilli seems utterly unbothered by his smell (we inherited his litter tray, which we left in the kitchen whilst we sorted things in the front room, along with a blanket - she had a good smell around it all and, whilst fascinated, did not exhibit any signs of distress or aggression.) She gets annoyed when we both disappear into the front room and she can't come with us - but she tends to be like that anyway currently.
Hopefully in a couple of weeks, I'll be able to put up a photo of the two of them at least tolerating each other, if not being BFF!
