How good is Allan Davis?

I might start taking an interest in racing this year, Allan Davis won the Tour Down Under, does this presage good things, or is it an early season flash in the pan?

Allan was in my racing club as a junior.  I never beat him in a sprint but surprised him on a time trial shortly after he got on the Australian team.

I remembered your tales of Ipswich Queensland as we cycled through Suffolk through the frosty Windflower of 2003, and thought you might be a source of information on Mr Davis. We're going to need to focus on riders showing form if we're not going to get diverted by the media's fascination with Mr Armstrong.
