Corrupting Tri Totty

A young lady doctor is on a 2 week placement here in Dundee. SHe turned up at our TT last night, rode her first 10 (27.51, second lady - went home with enough prize money after her entry fee to pay for supper!) enjoyed it and is keen to find more in London. SHe is Imperial based, member of VC Londres and rides at Herne Hill. I was wondering about other clubs to recommend in London for her who do regular TTing. What do the Twickenham ladies think?

She is a 'resting' rower following back issues.

The following came via email this morning:

Quote

In case you didn't know, or need a reminder, the Ten Mile Time-Trials,
previously promoted at Eastway Cycle Circuit by the Lea Valley Cycling Club on Tuesday evenings...

Lea Valley Cycling Club: HOG HILL TUESDAY TENS 2009

...are back in business after a three year hiatus, now at the Hog Hill circuit in furthest Redbridge...

Redbridge Cycling Centre | Hog Hill | Redbridge Cycling

The first rider goes off at 19:00, there were 27 riders this week, so
currently you don't have to get there earlier than 19:00 to be sure of
a start.

The circuit rules mean helmets are now obligatory, although some of the
riders were wearing head-fairings rather than crash-hats, which added to
the gaiety.

It takes around an hour to ride to Hog Hill from Hackney, a free
warm-up. The hilltop location is dramatic, with long views right across London
and the same cheery and inclusive ambience prevails. Everyone is
welcome from seasoned testers, nervous neophytes or casuals looking to
boost their fitness for Summer adventures.

Why not get out there and get out of breath?

Please spread the word.
;D  Andrij.  I pronounce you Complete and Utter GIT

If she rides at Herne Hill she is not far from Dulwich Paragon who ride from Crystal Palace.

They have a ladies section too.

Definitely point her in the direction of the Glorious Twickenham.  Our Ladies' squad is going from strength to strength and we'd love to have her ride with us.

She'd kick my arse in a TT, that's for sure.

That sounds nice. I'd rather do a 10 on a track than the road (but I'd ride to the circuit!).

10 on a track is somewhat yawn inspiring. On the road is my preference..

Stick a pool at one end and somewhere to rest your running shoes and you'd have a decent little workout.    :-*
It takes blood and guts to be this cool but I'm still just a cliché.

Oh, I know what you mean. I was thinking of the safety aspect. 30mins flat out isn't tooooo boring. (plus this sounds like quite a long circuit, not a 400m symmetrical job?)

When I rode the 24H, I was astonished to find that people do such things on a track. I was glad of the passing scenery, it was surprising how quickly time passed. That felt quite safe as I was never riding balls-out.
