They've been quite extraordinary this year, as have a lot of other wild flowers in profusion. These were taken on the South Downs looking westward and Chichester is way off to the left in the distance.

What was really distinctive on the following week's ride, was the Isle of Wight when we were poodling from Devils Dyke, and no, you young blades out there, we haven't got a hill called Devils Gay, just because we're in Brighton!!
