MIDDLETON TYAS
A bunch of Swedes at 04.15. Who would believe that the Swedish could complain about British weather?
A bike ridden by a fast Italian. Remarkable for the sharp contrast between "fast" and "useful". Unfortunately, the picture doesn't show that he had gone to the trouble of having the route sheet translated into Italian, and fitted to rollers, so he could scroll up and down en route. We were impressed.
MSeries, Warburton and Bob (not, I believe, of this parish)
An Israeli rider's bike. NOT designed for sidewinds.
A bunch of Dutch:
All the Dutch riders were wearing jerseys made especially for the occasion. Note the pockets on the
front of one jersey. especially for recumbents. I loved those jerseys, which is why I convinced them to pose in a row for the photo. If anyone does a shirt-swap at the end, grab one of the Durtch shirts.
We got to talking, and they spotted my VC167 cap, and asked if I knew MSeries! Apparently his fame has spread. So if he encounters a bunch of Dutch riders asking why he doesn't have his phone to his ear as in his avatar, well, he'll only have himself to blame
