Who killed this fox?

Found in my garden this morning; one recently deceased but otherwise healthy young fox.

I'm blaming it on Brock (see other thread).

Slightly annoyed as I now have to dig a big hole in sodden soil.

Poison? Though I think the fox would find a hiding place first if that was the case. Any bite marks?

Damage ? If none obvious  then maybe poison.

If a badger had killed it then I'd have expected it to be in pretty torn-up state.

Does it show no sign whatever of injury, Pancho? How far from the nearest road is it? Some kind motorists, after they have killed  a fox, have been known to sling it over the nearest hedge. Maybe it's injured on the other side?

That certainly looks like poisoning.

If not poison, then the classic concussion roadkill: it gets hit, wanders off and dies somewhere.  Happened to one of my cats. 

Definitely not badgers.  Badgers can't kill using the power of the mind.

Clearly this fox died from a heart attack.  This was most likely brought about by living a sedentary lifestyle eating too much with little exercise

You see hunting does improve the welfare, and fitness of foxes, it's a miserable job chasing them round the countryside in winter, but someone has to do it.
