vertiginous ascents and precipitous descents - none of it makes sense, but people do it every year. Defy reason and take part in the ride known as 'The Most Ridiculous of all the Classics'.

Just signed up. Anyone else doing it?

Does it have a suggested list of things to bring?

And if so, is "padlock key" included?

Snap. I've mailed Simon directly and alerted him to the fact that the published address is bouncing.

I have put it in the diary. I'd like to do it on the tandem but my beloved wife will probably be at a spinning, weaving & dyeing guild meeting that day.

I'm thinking about this but it will be entirely dependent if I happen to be skiing or not...

Wow, if you're keen to do it on the tandem but Mrs Wow is otherwise engaged, I will gladly offer my stoking services (references available from Tim Hall)  :D

Pippa, you're a star.

We can sort transport details out nearer the time, but I'd be getting to Fenchurch Street and cycling to Waterloo. With the Network Railcard it works out at not a lot (about £12 return all in for me last time IIRC), half that for the Waterloo - Dorking leg.

K-B and I have communication breakdown - the C&M Hilly 50 blog shows an incorrect email address. For those desperate to enter at this early date,  it should be:

ctc.cheammorden@virgin.net

as appears on the HQ list of events and cyclingswlondon.org.uk (where there's an "entry form").

After flexing our respective muscles, we'll either legitimise the address or amend the blog.

Such a shame that it was cancelled last year - I'm definitely up for it again.

I'm on for that I think. Either solo or with Ms Weasel on the tandem.  Was just thinking about this ride today what with plannning some Surrey Hills rides for Marmotte training.

Just seen this second thread about the ride...

Well, Tim and I have put this in our diaries.  :)
No, you put it in both our diaries.

Tandem/'bent/folder (if I get this right I can probably be in the top three for the class)

And refreshment afterwards anyone?

Running Horse again?

(I read it had changed management. Any good still?)

It's now a SN, the landlord didn't change when the pub was sold.

Beer's still well kept and there are many of the microbrews produced by SN passing through (though you don't always get lucky and sometimes there are only five or so of the standards)

Have now signed up for this.  Sadly Ms Weasel has declined to join me so I will be solo rather than on the tandem.  Up for refreshments afterwards too!
