Jimmy Carr?  Good practice for when he loses his driving licence.

I'm not sure that a luxury coach following behind would have been a good idea. Too much temptation rather than knowing you *have* to ride those 20 miles to your bed.

BBC News - Stars set off on John O'Groats to Land's End bike ride

Jimmy Carr?  For once maybe I endorse heckling of cyclists.

I think you're being generous with "B list" ..... and it's a RELAY - that's not a real end-to-end ride

You should hear them on the radio "80 hours of continuous riding".

erm, no, you ride a bit, then hand over and get a rest. That's not continuous.

Oh come on at least they are doing something for charity that involves a bit of effort and time and also raising the profile of cycling. Don't be all bah humbug. Mind you they have nothing on the lass from Blue Peter who has kayaked the whole of the Amazon for Sports Relief breaking two world records along the way.
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

I'm not going to ridicule the sporting prowess of David Walliams.

He's already swam the English Channel for a start off.

And it's cycling in the mass media, but this time it's refreshingly "positive".

Yes.  But Jimmy Carr? :o

Absolutely. Fans of his, seeing him astride a bike.

Oh, cycling can't be all that weird then after all?

OK.  That's fine.  But can we go speeding past him when he rides? ;)

Shirley it's all worth it for you to see your mate Jimmy with helmet hair?

Anymore negativity from you and I'll photoshop you doing a very lewd act with Jimmy.   ;)

I too watched it on morning telly and I think it's excellent. I don't care if they are "cheating" or if they are B rate or C rate, all that matters is that they are raising money for good causes and raising the profile of cycling in a positive way. Good luck to them.

Jesting aside, absolutely.  The efforts of some of these minor celebs in recent years has gone way beyond sitting in baths of beans.  Walliams, Izzard, McKichan & Skelton in particular have excelled themselves, and this effort looks well worth supporting.  Of course, the way for big name sponsored bike rides was started by Geoff Thomas, and Lawrence Dallaglio was recently on his bike too.

If it gets a few kids out on their bikes, that's brilliant.
