I see that streetview now has a 3d option (if you've got red & green 3d glasses)
Won't somebody think of the hamsters!

Just near where we were camping this weekend.  Sadly, I believe the Red Arrows are off training abroad :(

Probably wouldn't have been flying in current conditions...
Getting there...

Are they training again yet?  They lost a plane and injured a pilot last month...

I often see them if I'm staying at my Mum's (a few miles from Scampton). This is what I snapped when I went for a bike ride when I was staying there in February:

I think the StreetView car had fun here - it mapped the whole junction.

that looks a completely ridiculous roundabout, or should that be roundabouts, plural?  Looks dangerous to me, purely on the grounds that there aren't many of them around so people are probably quite bad at dealing with it...

Slightly better but still confusing for some.

I've found someone in Kent whose face hasn't been blurred out!

Her arms are so long that it doesn't recognise her as a human.

Wow.
It takes blood and guts to be this cool but I'm still just a cliché.

It's near Scampton, where the Red Arrows hang out.

Something went a bit wrong with their stitching software here.  Don't look up, either.

They've taken the big pic of Horse Boy off the site. You can still see him if you move a little bit though.

seems to have more than just roads now
it can't have been a car that went down there...

I have just noticed that if you click to move forward from this position you teleport 4 km southeast to approximately here but another click forward then teleports you back to where you started.

Isn't that fascinating !

OK  -  maybe it is only vaguely interesting and I should get out more.

Presumably they used the Google Streetview Tricycle.  We did talk about it in a thread somewhere, but I can't find it.

Interestingly, one of the places it seems to have gone around is Stonehenge.  They were allowed right inside of the circle, pretty cool.

Actually, it is rocket science.

I was in Upminster the other day, parked by the side of the road.

An odd looking car, Smart car with a gadget mounted on top of a pole, came round the corner and parked up.

Ooh,  I thought, my moment of fame.

It drove past me.  Except it wasn't a Googlecar, it was an automatic parking enforcement car.

Bugger.

I wonder if someone famous lives in Queens Road, Kingston, and asked for a media blackout?  I was proceeding along out of Richmond Park, checking out a route for Monday, when all of a sudden, it goes black with a comment that the image is no longer available.  It's not the case that the camera car didn't cover that section, as it all shows up OK when you hover the little man over the road.

Very strange.
