I read and enjoyed The Gallows Pole. The first few pages were very densely written and I thought I was going to struggle with it but either I got used to it or the style changed, and I raced through pretty quickly (for me) in the end.
I bought Cuddy as well but that will have to wait because I discovered that, not only has Magnus Mills got a new book out (The Discouragement of Others), a total of 6 have been published since 2020. I'm not sure why he's banging them out but at this rate but he's no longer published by Bloomsbury and these last 6 appear to be self published, so I'd guess that must have something to do with it. I'm on the second now - The Cure for Disgruntlement. I wonder how far I get through the 6 before I'm over-Mills'd and need a change.
