From Wikipedia:
'Jethro Larkin (George Hart), Stereotypical yokel. His tenure came to end in 1987 when helping David fell a tree using a chainsaw'.
(And an excellent summary of his character there :-) )

Exactly. David said it was an accident, but there were no witnesses. Dead yokels tell no tales.  And don't forget Fatman Forrest did for his brother (Jethro's not Deavid's).

Minor request: can we please use spoiler tags at least for anything which hasn't been broadcast in the omnibus yet?

I'd avoid Radio 4 in general then.  There have been references (i.e. plugs) all week on Today, PM, Woman's Hour and others I have forgotten, including clips.  On this evening's PM there were 2 initially sceptical reviewers who agreed to listen all week and concluded that the Archers is actually a jolly good show (apart from the theme tune)  ::-)  All pretty shameless self-promotion worthy of the Digger himself.

Another plug for the Archers this morning on Today - this time some spurious nonsense about Emma Grundy being in a forthcoming film which will be released in a few months' time (so not even topical).

Is anyone else watching the OJ Simpson series? (its surprisingly good!)

I'm awaiting a satire based on a pastiche/mashup/thingy of these two story lines. (do Bookies take bets on these sort of things??)

For anyone who needs to catch up with the Archers over the last 65 years, this is rather good.

No updates since then? (Very good, by the way, jo).

I had to remain silent throughout lunch today so that Aunt Phyllis and Mrs. Wow could get their fix.

I've been listening to the trial this week. Have to admit it's been pretty gripping.

Having listened at lunch time, I also had to listen to this evening's episode.

Just listened to the download of the Omnibus followed immediately by the hour-long trial - great stuff, even if predictable as an outcome ....... but there's more to come with the aftermath - what will happen between Helen & Rob?

I'm not convinced we've heard the full Rob/Henry story yet.

Doubtless complicated by Rob having formally adopted the lad . . . . hopefully nothing more sinister or unpleasant than wrangles over custody.

Was the outcome as predictable as the trial in Poldark this week?
