We went to see the Swan Lake in late June and attended a great spectacle at an excellent venue at the Birmingham Hippodrome. If you are keen on opera, ballet etc. this is well worth considering, in terms of troop and theatre. Naturally it is not the ROH in terms of standing and architecture, and probably not in terms of big names, but it is setting its own agenda and meeting its own ambitions very, very well through solid perfomances, good casts and superb sets. Tickets are also a fraction of what they can be in London (and the venue is only one hour away for us). I think we have somewhat accidentally acquired tickets for at least another three shows, two classics and a more modern ballet, as part of the present season!

Yes been a few times.

Best when we go with Mum, who provides expert criticism of the choreography and dancing.
It is simpler than it looks.
